The “For F*ck’s Sake” Gin range was introduced during the New Zealand Covid lockdowns as a response to how people were feeling at the time.
With a small budget and a tight timeline to work with Allan from Drunk Design and Wrapt Labels worked together to create this cost-effective label that still reflects the quality of the product.
They initially explored uncoated adhesive stocks, such as those used for wine labels, combined with foiling—but with the time and budgetary constraints they decided instead to work in reverse. Instead of foiling onto stock, they used a foil-based stock, Yenom Metallised Silver, and overprinted the colour.
The label is digitally printed on an HP Indigo using the Color-Logic System which expands the colour capability of compatible digital presses. This allows printing directly onto the foil stock. The labels were then laminated to provide a protective seal, and printed with a digital gloss build-up over the main lettering. The final labels were contour-cut and supplied to Good George on rolls to facilitate application during the bottling process.
