Bold Landscapes is a poster series based on places in New Zealand. It is a play-on-words approach, the design itself featuring bold shapes/colours and the phrase ‘bold landscape’. An ongoing series, there are references
to classic New Zealand travel posters while holding a modern twist. Audiences have mentioned that there are hints of Art Deco all the way to New Zealand Railway signage. The great thing about this series is that it brings back memories to people with places they’ve been to e.g.: Golden Bay might have been a childhood family holiday location. There are 7 designs in the first edition. Topflight Hi Bulk was selected because it has one side coated and one side uncoated – perfect for reproducing a sharp, bold image as well as writing that special message “Wish you were here!”.
